The Amahoro Children & Community Team
The ACCT is providing educational and medical services and support to vulnerable children and their communities throughout Uganda.
Even though Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa, life in this equatorial country can be hard.
- More than 1 in 4 people in Uganda are living below the poverty line
- Uganda has an overburdened medical system: only 1 doctor to every 20,000 people
- There is no free public school in Uganda; no free or reduced lunch. To attend school at any age, the price includes tuition, books, uniform, and lunch
The ACCT supports local non-governmental organizations and community based organizations to address these issues. We work together toward the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals to create a better world.
A key component of our work is our annual service trip, where we hold medical clinics and participate in educational exchanges. This service trip supports the year round work we do.
Have you ever wanted to go on a mission trip or a service trip? We believe that anyone can travel with us and that person brings a unique set of skills and ideas to share. Come with an open mind and a willingness to support medical doctors, educators and nurses–and a desire to work as a team.
